A Little About Us
My name is Kiley, and I am a full-time nurse. Additionally, I am the part-time baker behind Scratch That. I have an extremely supportive husband and two wild children, all of whom are excellent taste testers. Over the years, I have fallen in love with cooking, particularly baking, but my story starts off a little differently than most.
In 2022, after many sleepless nights and doctors’ visits, our daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy, and we were scared. We didn’t know what to do or how to help, so I chose to focus on what she was eating and drinking. Why not, right? I started doing some research and looking at ingredient lists, and I was scared again. It was hard for me to find goods in the store that didn’t have added preservatives, dyes, and other concerning ingredients—even items that were labeled as “made fresh.” So, I started making our own bread, and the rest is history. One day, my son asked me if I made a cookie that I had given him from scratch, and I said yes… to which he responded in a serious tone, “Mom, you should sell this.” I laughed at first, but then I thought to myself, maybe I will… and Scratch That was born.
My goal with this business is to provide easier access to safe foods and goods for anyone who would like them. I do not know everything or have all of the answers, but I am always doing my best to make the safest decisions for what my family eats and uses—and now, what yours does too. Whether you care about the things I care about or just want homemade goodness, I have something for you, and I am so glad you’re here.
